Slot games are one of the most liked games to play at casinos. On any night, expect most of the slot machines to be packed with enthusiastic players. They appear in a variety of gambling levels; some only cost $.05 a play and others can cost upwards of $20 a play. Although slot machines are a wagering tool, many people are afraid of the big money table games and like the entertainment and thrill of an excellent slot machine.

The 1st mechanical slot machine was built in 1895 and was called the "Liberty Bell." Created by a California machinist, the first slot games had 3 reels with a cracked Liberty Bell, diamonds, hearts, and spades affixed on each. Before this invention, the name "slot machines" was used to characterize several types of vending machines.

The initial widespread use of slots in US betting houses is attributed to the Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas somewhere around the 40’s. The owner of the casino had initially thought the slot machines would be awesome to captivate tired wives of a few of the largest whales of the betting house. Little did he know that slot games would be a fun game for almost everyone and that the allure would go beyond the the apathetic wives. At this time, it is said, slots comprise in excess of 2/3rds of all income generated by U.S. brick and mortar casinos.

Slot machine games certainly have a full history. From the small creation of the late-19th century to the million dollar industry of today, slot machines will continue to grow in universal appeal.
